DIVERSITY IN CANADA 2

(Release Date: April 2008) Following on the remarkable success of the first edition, Diversity in Canada 2 takes the pulse of two of Canada’s fastest-growing ethnic groups: Canadian Chinese and South Asian consumer segments. The study is based on 1,609 detailed interviews (15+) conducted in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and English, in Toronto and Vancouver in November/December 2007.

Core areas covered include TV, newspaper, radio and Internet use, household demographics, social attitudes, advertising and data on selected consumer categories (e.g., banking, wireless, grocery shopping, among others). The report can be purchased in full or by ethnic group or market (Toronto or Vancouver). Contact David Ackerman (dackerman@srgnet.com) for more.

DIVERSITY IN CANADA

Diversity in Canada delivers a one-of-a-kind snapshot of Canada's fastest-growing population groups in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. The 2006 edition of the research was a hit — 2007-2008 edition is coming soon.

Based on 3,000 interviews in nine languages, the study features vital information on new and second generation Canadians as well as visible minorities. Interviews for Diversity in Canada were conducted in South Asian languages (Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu), Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), Spanish, Italian, English and French.

The study covers media use, consumer behaviour in key categories (e.g., banking, wireless), demographics and household structure as well as social attitudes. The study is a comprehensive reference for marketers who are targeting Canada's most important growth markets and all levels of government who need to understand these increasingly important population segments.
